Hato Caves Curacao, Kueba di Raton and Kueba di Y?chi, 3 hectares combined.
The impressive Hato Caves are being managed as a tourist attraction for CARMABI by a local entrepreneur since 1991. The Hato caves are the largest caves known on Curacao and offer a unique glimpse in the limestone formation and erosion processes going on for thousands of years. Guided tours give you insight in these geological formations and the history surrounding the area.

The ?Kueba di Raton" (mouse-cave) and the "Kueba di Y?chi" on the Hato plains, are kept closed and off limits to the public to protect the large number of endemic and ecologically important bats living there.

In Curacao there are at least 8 different species of bats. Some of them eat insects while others eat fruits and one species even catches fish. Each species has its own role and significance in nature.
The Pomier Caves  Dominican Republic are a series of 55 caves located north of San Cristobal in the Dominican Republic. They contain the largest collection of the 2000-year-old rock art in the Caribbean primarily by the Taino, but also by the Carib and the Igneri, the pre-Columbian indigenous inhabitants of the Bahamas, Greater Antilles, and some of the Lesser Antilles. These caves have been damaged by the uncontrolled mining of limestone nearby.

Archaeologists have described the importance of preserving these caves which were first discovered in in 1851. The caves contain approximately 6,000 drawings, carvings and pictographs of birds, fish, reptiles, and human figures. The paintings were drawn with charcoal mixed with animal fat. Archaeologists say that the paintings have been protected by the natural humidity provided by the depth of the caves as they extend down to 1,000 feet below sea level

In 1996, the Anthropological Reserve of Cuevas de Borb? in San Crist?al was enlarged to protect the El Pomier caves from limestone quarrying. This raised their protection category, and included them in the National System of Protected Areas, through the General Law on Environmental and Natural Resources, Law 64-00, which also gave instructions to the Secretariat de Estate supervising its application

Given the international importance of these caves for the study of Amerindian groups that inhabited the Caribbean Islands for nearly 8,000 years prior to the arrival of western culture, the caves are being considered for the unique category of Capital Prehistoric De Las Antillas (Prehistoric Capital of the Antilles) and the rehabilitation of one of its caves and its surrounding area to match this new category

The Green Grotto Caves Jamaica are show caves and a prominent tourist attraction in Discovery Bay, St Ann on the north coast of Jamaica. Named for the green algae that cover its walls, the structure of the cave is strikingly different to inland systems; the chambers have been carved by tides and waves with two well-defined levels apparently indicating two periods with differing sea-levels.The innermost cavern contains a crystal-clear underground lake.

In addition to the publicly accessible sections of the cave there is also a section of "wild caves" with relatively undisturbed ecology. Hydrologically, the cave system is connected with the adjacent coastal waters.

At various times they have been known as the Runaway Bay Caves, Hopewell Caves, Cave Hall Caves, Discovery Bay Caves, Dry Harbour Caves, Rum Caves and Dairy Caves.
The caves are home to Jamaica nine of Jamaica's 21 species of bat including the Big-Eared Bat, the Mustache Bat, and the Jamaican Fruit-Eating Bat. Numbers are quite high with most of the available roosting space used.Guano is present in large amounts but few of the usual guano dwelling inverts have been recorded; the invasive American Roach is found

The brackish water in the lower levels is full of marine life including small barnacles and various unidentified small swimming creatures
