WEBMASTER'S CHOICE ARUBA:
Marina Pirata - Where you can dine with the
fish --- Aruba
We want you to experience an unforgettable evening in our
majestic setting. We're located right on the pristine
turquoise waters, just a short drive south of Oranjestad.
The setting is unmatched. The view and sunsets are
spectacular. Imagine delicious steaks and seafood, then
you'll realize that Marina Pirata is worth the drive. So get
away from the crowds and join us for a fabulous dinner. Come
and dine with the fish
The name says it all: expect
lots of driftwood at this fish restaurant! Owner Herbie Merryweather
personally gathered all the sun-bleached pieces of wood the sea spit
out on Aruba's north coast and decorated his restaurant in downtown
Oranjestad from floor to rafters.
Gasparito's Aruba
Pepper an international menu
with tasty local Aruban dishes and you've got Gasparito's, the
cunucu-style restaurant which is celebrating its fifteenth
anniversary in October. Gasparito's focus is on local art: more than
150 oil paintings, watercolors and acrylics, all for sale, grace its
walls depicting views of this island's countryside, quaint houses,
rock formations, and divi-divi trees.
Brisas del Mar Aruba
An old cunucu-style house on the
water's edge with a fantastic view of the reef and bobbing fishing
boats is the setting. Fresh catch off local fishermen's boats is the
fare—they moor their small, wooden skiffs at the Zeerovers Pier next
door.
The Buccaneer Aruba
Dining at the Buccaneer would be
a treat even without the aquariums filled with fish collected
locally by owner Jozef Munzenhoffer. The catch is always fresh, the
prices have not changed since opening day, and neither has its
location at Gasparito 11c

picture. The bar offers Cocktails and the charm of a local place.
Saba's Fisherman and other locals enjoy their evenings in a nice
atmosphere at our bar and having a chat about goats, the weather or

your breakfast, lunch or dinner at Scout's Place an unforgettable
experience. Scout's Place is always open Monday-Sunday from 7.30am -
11.00pm. Master & Visa Card accepted.
Swinging Doors Saba is definitely the place where everybody
knows your name. It anchors the corner in Windwardside opposite the
Big Rock Market.
Prop. and bartender Eddie Hassell has the neighborhood watering hole
recipe down pat: a well-stocked inventory, simple fare (hamburgers,
hot dogs, fries, etc.), and a wealth of unsolicited opinions-he
renamed his "potato offering" Freedom fries after recent
disappointments over non-support from European ally. Eddie is a
naturalized American citizen and served in the US merchant marine
for 13 years. Ask the man for a story and you a likely to get a
book.
Speaking of pat - Saba and we were, weren't we? - Eddie's wife
Pat does her best to keep the Wild West flavor of the Swinging Doors
reigned in: the atmosphere is definitely mellow for families with
children. The atmosphere is fun, the chairs comfortable, and the
conversation lively.
Eddie's specialties Saba are BBQ ribs and chicken dinners on Tuesday
and Friday evenings and Saturday noon. Quality is consistently
excellent, ingredients rigorously fresh.
Smoke Alley Statia, is a
favorite among locals and tourist, especially on a Friday night when
there's either local live music or a DJ. Located on the water, an
easy walk from hotels and dive shops, Smoke Alley's theme is Tex Mex
but you can also order a burger, barbequed ribs, fresh fish or a
steak--a crowd pleasing place!
The Old Gin House Statia is the island's only top level restaurant
with Chef Jan, a Michelin Chef from Belgium. Treat yourself to a
special dinner, exquisite wine list and desserts to die for--all in
a romantic setting. Across the street from the main restaurant is a
seaside bar that serves continental breakfast, lunch and a cool one
after diving.
The Golden Era Restaurant Statia's a sort of standard hotel
restaurant. It's conveniently located within the hotel, with a view
of the pool and the sea and within steps of Scubaqua's Dive Center.
The food is basic but readily available after diving!
Blue Bead Restaurant Statia is the island's popular spot. Belgian
owners offer a unique mix of French Creole style food. Again, a
great location, just across the street from Golden Rock Dive Center
and just a few more steps from both Dive Statia and Scubaqua.
King's Well Restaurant Statia is located at King's Well Hotel. Known
as much for the fellow diners (an entertaining array of birds, dogs,
cats and iguanas ☺) as its German style entrees, this place is a
must for a complete Statia experience. A good size plate of food and
a few laughs at a reasonable price.
Gallow's Bay Snack Bar Statia is actually located within the gas
station but makes a decent pizza and a great place to try an island
treat like johnny cakes, pistaches or a fried chicken leg--open all
day.
Ocean View Terrace Statia lives up to its name--great view of the
sea as well as the famous Fort Oranjestaad. Lauris is your host--a
wonderful local woman who will tempt you with her many Statian
delights--my favorite is the garlic shrimp! There's always a
Caribbean breeze and a warm smile to greet you.
Cool Corner Statia, is a name found on many bars in the West Indies
but this one is actually a Chinese restaurant and a common place to
find ex-pats. Get Chucky to prepare you a fresh meal 'from scratch'.
You're in the Caribbean mon, enjoy the local color, hang out with
the locals--worth the wait!
Sonny's Cantonese Statia,is one of 6 Chinese restaurants on Statia.
Family run with great, attentive service and famous for their egg
rolls. Open for lunch and dinner, nice open-air seating.
Super Burger is Statia's version of fast food--perhaps no drive thru
or the consistency or variety of a real McDonald's but their ice
cream is delightful. Grab a cone and pick from a variety of
flavors--a great way to cool off in the day or finish your dinner
before strolling back to your hotel.
Fruit Tree Restaurant Statia's near the Mazinga Gift shop. Enjoy the
pleasant atmosphere and good local food--that's real food of the
West Indies: authentic oxtail or bull foot soup for starters
followed by fish, lobster, chicken or pork served with rice,
plantain and salad--a rib stickin' large plate of home style
cooking.
